About Us

We are a couple living on the wild, and wind swept Irish Atlantic coast.

We love to surf, take photographs, see new places and eat :-)

Through this blog we would like to share our perspective of living, traveling and exploring.

Alison, who is originally from Dublin, spends her working days traveling through the county and meeting all the characters that can be found in the west of Ireland. When she is not working, she will either be found getting salted and surfed out, or stirring some batter for a post-surf treat.

Ollie, who is originally from a small town in the Netherlands, spends half his time as a captain on a ship, where ever that may take him, giving him a sea dog's view of the world.

Next to surfing and photography he also enjoys throwing rocks at the Bermuda triangle and sitting down for a nice cup of tea.

We met in 2008 while surfing and staying at the same hostel in Strandhill, County Sligo, Ireland. Ten weeks later we were on a plane to Costa Rica. 1 year later we had packed our respective bags, boxes and cars and headed for Ireland's west coast.

  1. Can't believe it's been five years! I love the blog, especially the beautiful photography. I'm imagining the delicious smells of cooking and salt spray to go along with your images x

  2. I know. It's scary how fast the time has gone. Glad you like the blog. Definitely plenty of salt spray on the windows these days, plenty of onshore winds :( hopefully an indian summer is just around the corner.

  3. Lovely photo and heart connection. I can almost feel the wind in my face and hear the waves crashing on the shore.
